Poverty and Income Distribution in Brazil Today

Come join us for an amazing lecture on poverty and income inequality in Brazil with Francisco H. G. Ferreira's interesting perspective! He is a Lead Economist at the World Bank's Research Department and a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA, Bonn). During his World Bank career, he has also served as Deputy Chief Economist for Latin America and the Caribbean, and as Co-Director of the World Development Report 2006, on Equity and Development. He has published widely in the fields of poverty, inequality, and the political economy of development. He has been awarded the Adriano Romariz Duarte and the Haralambos Simeonides Prizes by the Brazilian Economic Economic and Econometric Societies, among others. He was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics.
