Summer Workshop: Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ: Answers to your questions about the Summer Workshop

• Admission to the Workshop is open to all students and advisers from senior high schools, whether public, private or parochial. No junior high or middle school students are accepted, but advisers from these schools are welcome.

• Participants are any persons attending any part of the Workshop. Advisers are considered participants and must pay the registration fees. Chaperones are those who will reside in the dormitory but will NOT attend classes.

• Registration, health consent forms and nonrefundable deposit of $TBD must be postmarked no later than May 9, 2011. Space cannot be guaranteed after that deadline. Registration is limited to 325 students, advisers and chaperones.

• Full payment of all fees (check or money order) must be received at the CSPA office on or before Wednesday, June 1, 2011. We will invoice against school purchase orders if received by May 9th, but full payment will be required no later than June 1, 2011. Purchase orders must comply with this payment schedule. No refunds will be granted after Monday, May 9th.

• Schools sending 10 or more students are required to have them accompanied by an adviser. If an adviser cannot attend, then the group must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If the chaperone is a non-adviser and will not be attending sessions, the price is $TBD. The adviser/chaperone must be with the group at night, will assist with sign-in at nightly curfew check, and may not take any participants out of the building after 10 p.m.

• Admission to sessions is restricted to registered Workshop participants. Registration includes completion of necessary forms and payment of fees. No part of this Workshop is open to the public. Persons attempting to enter any Workshop function who are not registered as participants may face ejection from the campus. Please be sure to register everyone in your group to avoid embarrassment.

Please remember that no meals will be provided during the week. Delegates will be on their own for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A list of surrounding restaurants will be provided in the registration confirmation and at arrival to the workshop. There are more than 20 restaurants, diners and delicatessens in and around the immediate campus area.

• On-campus accommodations for the nights of Sunday, June 19th through Thursday, June 23th are included in the registration fee.

• Accommodations for early arrivals/late departures are available at an extra fee of $TBA per person per night for the nights of June 18th and June 24th only. Since CSPA must reserve these rooms, if you plan to arrive early and/or stay late, we must receive your registration form on or before Monday, May 9th. If you have reason to believe that your form will not reach CSPA by May 9th, call the office immediately to notify us of your plans.

• Early check-in will take place from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. on June 19th in the lobby of Carman Hall, and late check-out is no later than 11 a.m. on June 24th, again in the lobby. During early check-in, you will only receive your room key. You must return on Sunday from noon - 4 p.m. to pick up your CSPA registration in the lobby of the Carman dormitory.
